Bye Bye Gel Mani
I recently made the decision to stop getting gel manicures. Anyone who knows me knows that’s kind of a big deal! I LOVE gel manicures. Quick dry nail polish for a busy lady? Heck yeah I’ve got time for that. Unfortunately, I’ve been reading too many articles on the dangers of the chemicals in gel manicures. I decided it was time to let gel go.
So what’s my new alternative? Zoya nail polish! Zoya’s the name of the woman who helped create the brand. She was originally a classical pianist in Russia who earned her Cosmetology license in 1979. Of course she gets brownie points for being a creative. What I really like about the brand, however, is that it doesn’t use toxic ingredients like toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, or DBP (dibutyl phthalate) in their products. I also love their focus on the health and well being of their customers.
The polish doesn’t dry as quickly as a good ole’ gel mani but it’s okay. Using a product with a lot less chemicals on my fingers and toesies is worth the wait.
