Beet Juice


If you're interested in adding a boost to your daily workout try two cups of fresh beetroot juice.  In a study done a few years ago researchers found that drinking beetroot juice before exercising could actually enhance your performance!  How does it work?  Beetroot juice contains nitrates (an inorganic compound found in plants).  Nitrates increase your blood vessels’ capacity to dilate.  The increased dilation increases your blood flow.  So when you drink beetroot juice you require less oxygen to workout.  Basically it takes longer for you to get tired.  The magic number that researchers came up with was 2 cups of fresh-juiced beetroot.  Try to drink it 2 ½ hours before you workout.
